Intensive Russian Assaults Eliminate Power In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have faced increased strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and encountered problems to water supplies, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was fatally injured in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated strikes on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "substantial measures" from allies to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the United States, Europe and the G7 - in delivering protection systems and applying penalties," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 missiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A series of attacks damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.

Regional authorities said the urban area endured intense attacks overnight. A minor was killed and several individuals were hurt.

The attacks come after periods of bombing campaigns in the territory, parts of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to identify.

Government officials told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the national power system, with assaults already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
